“Enantiodromia”—a rare-use word of Ancient Greek origins—describes the phenomenon where an extreme state, like anger or euphoria, becomes fully realized and then immediately begins to turn into its opposite. Said another way, the fullness of something leads to its disappearance.

A look into Emily’s “BAC Space Residency” with her group, Schoen Movement Company, and guest artists from Tunisia, as they work towards an evening-length premiere that culminates their two-year partnership.
Baryshnikov Arts Center named Emily the Martha Duffy Resident Artist for this residency, an award created by BAC Board Member James H.Duffy in memory of his late wife Martha Duffy, a former senior editor in charge of coverage of the performing arts for Time magazine.
See me in your eyes — An American and Tunisian Collaboration
An evening-length work culminating a two-year partnership between American and Tunisian dancers, featuring stories recounted from the dancers’ childhoods as they grew up across the world from each other. This work was supported by Dance Motion USA / Brooklyn Academy of Music, US Embassy in Tunis, American Dance Abroad, Queens Council on the Arts, and LaGuardia Performing Arts Center.
